VISUAL DEVELOPMENT
Borderhunt
This project is the sum of the homework in the "Create Your Project" course at Digital Painting Classes.
I have always liked Slavic fairy tales. This is a mysterious forest full of dangers. This is a journey, at the end of which a reward and a return home are sure to await. These are unusual friends and opponents who will meet on the way.
Therefore, I chose the theme of fairy tales, namely the journey of a girl through a dark forest to save her little brother. Along the way, she encounters many dangers and enemies, including Baba Yaga.

The style of the project was formed from comics and a little bit from Borderlands games - I thought this combination was very successful. This makes it possible to focus on the gameplay and show the game theme.

It's a looter shooter inspired by my favorite Borderlands game series.
The main work was focused on creating a fake screen with a fight scene. There is a battle with the level boss - Baba Yaga.
In the process of work, the location was drawn. Here there is a fight with the boss of the level in order to go further in the story. The location consists of islands connected by suspension bridges. The islands contain various resources and items that the player can find.
"Every pixel" was drawn: trees, objects, buildings.. They are combined with each other and easily placed on the islands.
Tiles for surfaces were also created: earth and water. The set of tiles is made in such a way that you can collect islands of any shape. The second layer can be used paths or flowers.
The inventory screen was also drawn - the player can go into it before the battle to put on the best things.
I liked the idea of making the interface windows look like real carved windows from Slavic villages.
