UX CONCEPT
Town of the Sun
The project was created as a result of the collaboration of interface designers, animators and 3d designers.
I was responsible for finding the window layout for Switch.
First, I looked at which layouts work best for console games and what similar functionality looks like in other games.
So I was able to figure out the size of the elements on the Switch screen. I also learned how players customize items in the game and how to do it conveniently.
After that, I started working on wireframes. I have collected several black and white options. This made it possible to work specifically on the functionality, without being distracted by the design.
Since some elements of the customization were small, I came up with the idea to increase the preview when the block with this element is active - the crest above the entrance. This made it possible not only to better see how the crest looks on the building, but also added pleasant interactivity.
At the end, the wireframes were tried on the device - I printed them out in full size, put them on the screen of my Switch and checked that everything was readable and conveniently located.
And the last step is to create a nice visual for the presentation. It is a sum of Vadim Moor, Aydar Nurullin and my work.
Then UI designers and 3D artist Vadim Nasyrov got to work and we got an incredibly beautiful and atmospheric screen.
